Run "screen"


When I use "screen" , or "screen -R -T vt220" , it seems change my existing settings (eg. TERM , set , language etc. ) so that there is display problem of characters , can advise how to retain all settings unchanged when use screen ?

This isn't a solution, since it might actually make things screwier, but you could try setting 'term xterm' in your .screenrc (or running 'screen -T xterm'), or whatever TERM value you have when things work right. Running it as default (TERM=screen) or as vt220 (if you don't ordinarily use a vt220) gives you a different set of terminal capabilities than usual.
