Question Can't run "halt" or "reboot" as user, can somebody help?

i can not run the "halt" and "reboot" commands as a normal user, even if I changed the permisions for them, once from the KDE menu, after thet manually, from console. while the reboot command is not a very big issue, the halt one is, because the computer is used at home, the other users do not know how to use a linux machine and i don't like it to be allways on. If somebody knows a way to solve it, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The /sbin directory where halt and reboot are located are probably not in your path, try typing
Code:
/sbin/halt

You could also add /sbin to your path.

can the oath be added by just adding it to the .login or .bash file? I ask this just because it does not run even if i use the /sbin/halt command. it says only root can run it. Should I change the file atributes for halt file in /sbin directory? or it is enought to make a simlink to it in /home/sbin directory.
THANKS FOR REPLYING GUYS!!!!!!!!!
