Hi all,
I am trying to configure rhythmbox to share music files on my LAN via daap. I have enabled sharing in the daap plugin and opened port 3689 on my gateway/router/WAP.
However, when I run Rhythmbox as a daap-client on my laptop (Ubuntu), it doesn't see the daap shares. Running this in terminal doesn't produce results either:
$ avahi-browse -a -r -t.
According to this article
Music Collection Sharing With Rhythmbox avahi only works for a subnet:
Quote:
Avahi, after collecting all the needed information about that service, it publishes it as a mDNS/DNS-SD service and makes it available in the local subnet, so that all other workstations are notified about the new available service.

Alas, my laptop is connected via a wireless card in my gateway and is on a different subnet than the desktop box with the music files.
Anyone have any idea how to circumvent this (apparent) limitation?
I am running rhythmbox-0.11.3-6.fc8 as daap server, 0.11.2-0ubuntu4 as daap client.
