redhat 8 to winXP ICS

the dilemma:

my redhat box is directly connected to the internet with a cable modem

my sister's pc (winXP) is connected to mine

(there are other pc's - BUT - it would be easier for me to get hers working - and then I can reuse my new-found knowledge to get those working)

i cannot seem to share my internet connection with her

(i have tried numerous things - i tried to use the HOWTO IP MASQUERADING - but got discouraged - i tried to set up a linux router (with another simpler pc) - but the video didn't work(the motherboard was fried - well the video part of the motherboard was))

i cannot even "ping" her computer

(i have tried numerous times)

her pc states that there is an ip conflict with another computer

the statistics:

i can either use a router (it's a belkin) or use simply use a load of Ethernet cards (i have more then enough(all told - about 5))

my cable modem is dynamic

notes:

i have tried to give you all the related info - BUT - if theres anything else you might need to know - ask and i will do the best i can

i was a windows nut - but i am currently trying to sway off it - please understand - linux baffles me - i am sorry if at first i do not understand you - or what you might want me to do

i'm hoping my format for this post is acceptable - i tried to format my info and request in a logical manner - to make my request easier to read - if i did not succeed - please tell me how to post better - OR - other ways to post - OR - other info to include

thanks in advance,
ph33rful

actually - nevermind
i run ICS through her computer now - much easier for me to learn linux - instead of me getting frustrated w/ IPTABLES and IP MASQ

so like - yeah - i need no more help!
(with this issue anyway)

later,
