Your card

Check the year on your card. If it is too old, then Linux most likely does not have current drivers for it. Searching the Internet for a recent driver (using Google.com for example), may solve your problem.

Or, if you have the money, you may need to replace your card with a new one. If not, check your BIOS settings. If it is an on-board network adapter, make sure it is enabled in the settings.

Hope this helps!

Really? That's odd. Perhaps saving the money for a Redhat Linux 9 compatible card will do the trick.

There you go!

I have used some of this card in the past. If I'm not wrong, you can use the natsemi driver.

Just fire:

/sbin/modprobe natsemi

(you can use "find /lib/modules | grep natsemi" to check the driver presence)

If it doesn't work, you will need to compile the code and put it in your /lib/modules/<linux-kernel-version>/kernel/drivers/net.

As may be needed some additional files in this case, I suggest you to read the docs or recompile the kernel.

Good luck.
