I've been facing this problem with wireless networking on fedora 16. There are no connection problems as such, as in it never disconnects once connected to an SSID.
The main problem is that the speed in general is very slow, most of the time pages as simple as google don't open so it shows an dns resolution or other error related to cannot find the page.
How can I uninstall the native drivers for my wireless card realtek 8188ce, and re-install them again? I'm aware of the 'make and install' method. I did some searching and feel that I will have to compile the drivers and then blacklist the native one, but not sure though..
If you use Fedora 16, the binary RPM is from Fedora 16, not from Laptop builder. If Fedora 16 didn't work, you can try Fedora 17. My point is that using latest RTL8188CE driver they provides. Otherwise, building from source code is your only chioce.
@nini09, I updated yesterday to f17 using pre-upgrade, so far I've tried ubuntu 10.04,11.10,12.04, f16 and f17 but the problem still persists...The wireless connection simply stops responding. I really want to resolve this issue.
Next I shall try what Acrosanti suggested in my other post..
