I want to identify the network packets uniquely in a network.. I know that this sounds some sort of impossible but still i must try to do it..
If i dont identify somehow the packets then i wont be able to calculate some statistics about my network...
I have thought 2 ways for doing that
1)Place a unique number in each packet... The number must have a big range 0...9999999. Still i don't know how to do that. One way perhaps for doing that is to use the iptrables.....
2)One other way is to open the packet in hexadecimal format and read some bytes of the data.. It is impossible to find packets with the same data which means that each packet is identified uniquely....
I want to suggest me what to do . I am trying to implement the second alternative but still i dont know what bytes i should select from the packet...
