I'm using squid as the internet proxy, Im connected directly to a dsl connection, got all that figured out, there is a connection

when I try to run the squid program it gives me the following error

dave:~ # rcsquid start
Starting WWW-proxy squid startproc: signal catched /usr/sbin/squid: Aborted
failed

Checked the error logs, it was supposedly cause I didn't have specified a dns server on my resolv.conf, i opened the file to input them and two addresses where already there.... taken in by the system....... i kept on reading some more and I input these adresses
directly into the squid.conf file

Keep on gettin the same error

Try starting squid without the DNS test..

/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -D
that is of couse if that is your path to squid... This will start squid without initially test DNS.. see if that works...
