printer server


On my linux gateway debian sarge stable 3.1 2.4 i dont want to run any X-application but when i go to install cupsys it comes out with dependencies including XFree86 .It does not have a printer sticked to it but it has to connect to my printer server to print.What clients should i use to make my gateway print ?

Can you use lpr,lprng, or rlpr?
