pppoe configuration problem

Good day, Linux fans! My problem is that my internet connection is pppoe and, as you know it should be configured with pppoeconf. but if I try to do this, I get to this stage:

As on the screenshot, the searching for pppoe access concentrator goes to 100% and nothing happens. I tried waiting for about 2 hours and it continues staying on a hundred percents. My network adapter is VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter. The problem is very strange and I have it on three different linux distros. Thanks in advance.
