welcome

can you try to use kppp instead of pppd?

KDE has its own dialler program called kppp,
right hand click empty desk space and tab to APPLICATION and type kppp and click ok and then create a new modem setting when you are NOT on the internet.

You will need to know your ISP settings to do this

what do you mean by transfer data?

saving to your drive? which may be you are trying to save to a folder that needs root permission?
uploading data? which means you may have a firewall issue?

if its a save/dowload issue try saving to your
/home/yourname/ folder please
