I've currently setup the Apache Server 2.0 in my Mandrake Linux Distro.
/var/www/
is the default which now I've put my index.shtml in the html section.
Now I want to setup a pop3 and ftp server so that I can access my files through the internet remotely.
Of course it is not going to be a anonymous ftp server.
I need some detailed information of making a ftp and e-mail server.
Also, to setup a permission level.
I've tried making a directory for one of my clients that will be using the new linux server.
ex. /var/www/tom/
I didn't know how to setup the permission level to so that a regular internet user can access.
ex. localhost/~tom/
now the 3rd question is is /var/www/perl/
directory the default directory for executing perl?
I need to run some cgi scripts.
I've installed all the rpms regarding perl and apache through rpm manager.
Distribution: OpenBSD 4.6, OS X 10.6.2, CentOS 4 & 5

From your menu, go to Configuration -> Packaging -> Install Software
Search for "ftpd" in package name or description. Choose the ftpd that you like best (there will be several, read their descriptions). Do the same for "pop3" (make sure you install a pop3 daemon, not a pop3 client).
