what does pinging implies basically.
if i am able to ping an IP does that means the connection is working perfectly fine, if not then to what extent does it says that the link is fine.
Pinging implies you have a network connection. Can you ping a particular host or domain like http://www.linux.com? If you can't connect to domain names, usually good indication you need to add or reconfigure your resolv.conf file for your DNS entries.
