Pinging??


is there a command in linux to ping an ip address? like in windows you can go to a command prompt and type ping 192.168.........

oh and is there a program that one con use to defrag their hardrive under linux or does this need to be done?

You use ping the same way as in windows. And you don't have to worry about disk defragment in linux.

Most of the links that google came up with say that you don't need to defrag linux. And from my personal experience too, no need.
