Smile pc modify to switch with router function?


Hi, if have a pc system like intel pentium 2,3,4 with many pci slot, than if want to modify it to become a switch or hub with a router function if posible better have more than router function like web logger,firewall,vpn... is it posible?

I found the LRP(linux router project)there have a software to lets pc change to router, but i still find out is it posible to install a redhat or centos or other linux distor. OS to the pc system which is want become a switch or hub with a router functions and than plug-in this kind of function(switch or hub with a router functions,weblogger,firewall,vpn...).

It is easy to make a Linux system into a router, but you aren't going to be able to easily replicate a switch/hub in software. You would want to get a real switch, and just use the computer as the router.
