password encrypted or plain


when I do "net use h:\\sambaserver\mydirectory mypassword" from a command prompt on my XP workstation, and I haved password encrypt yes in my smb.conf file is the password encrypted when it goes to the server?

It should be. I think the last Windows which uses plaintext passwords on cifs was windows 98.
But why don't test ist. Run tcpdump or Whireshark and see for yourself.
