openSUSE 11.0 new install - no network
Hey there,
I am a returning Linux user. I just got a new system with Vista32 on it and as I have for a number of years, I put openSUSE 11.0 on it in a dual boot config.
The overall install went fine, but I have no internet access. The automated Network Config app detects the Atheros based PCIe Ethernet chipset but gives an error message to the effect that it does not recognize the eth0 - LAN0 interface .. blah blah blah, something about missing firmware.
So, is this simply a matter of downloading the Atheros Linux driver for the chipset ? and then retrying the Network configuration tool ?
I downloaded a xxx.tar.gz file from Atheros, but need some reminders of what to do with it.
If there is something else I need to do can someone give a pointer or two?
Thanks
