OK, I give up. I've been working on this problem for hours and I can't figure it out. I upgraded my Slackware 9.1 to the 2.6.6 kernel and now my eth0 can't see the internet. On boot up, when it tries to get it's IP (I guess that's what it's doing) I get this error message:
DCHP[475] timed out waiting for DCHP_ACK
DCHP[475] broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER
DCHP[475] timed out waiting for valid DHCP response

My eth1 is connected to my XP box and everything worked fine under 2.4.22 (which I still have and gave myself the option to select in LILO). I'm using my Slack box as a router.
