Networking WinXP to Redhat 8.0 machine

I've recently installed Redhat 8.0 on a system that I had previously had Win98 on. Before Linux was installed, I had that computer networked to my WinXP laptop, and was sharing a hard drive on the now-Linux machine with my laptop. I know that there's a way that I can setup a network between the two computers, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Can anybody at least help get me started?
