Question Network redudancy

Hi All,

I have a linux machine connected via a CABLE modem and an ISDN. This need is for a stable connection with 100% connectivity.
The problem is that both connections give up many times in between and cause link failure.

I could take 2 connections from 2 diferent ISP's and would like to combine them to serve as one 100% connectivty line.

How could I do this on linux server. Also note that I need to support a LAN behind it.

Presently I do IPMasq, and when I ssh to a server somewhere else, the connection is shown as from the Linux server on the current active interface.

Please let me know what I would require to setup a redundant network.

Thanks in advance,
Russell

Setup router to start cable connection at boot, setting defaultroute and eventually SNAT to it.
Setup a route to 2 internet sites rarely used by your lan but quite available.

Then start a script that continue pinging in cycle a list of sites (2 above + others): when none reply just start ISDN and change to it defaultroute and eventually SNAT.
Continue pinging to 2 sites above (routing is still to cable interface because you've setup specific rules for it) and when someone reply to you set defaultroute and SNAT back and stop ISDN.
Now just infinite loop this script and you have about 100% connectivity.

Starting (and stopping) ISDN give you longer switching time but save you much money.
