"Network path not found "


Hi,

This is a varity problem which i faced.... I shared a file "Yak.exe" from Linux to Winndows 2000.... whenever iam trying to map a network drive from a win system i got the error " Access Denied , Network Path not found " but if i place that file along with another txt file in one folder and agian shared it ...
This time i am enable to map a network drive for that folder .... but whenever trying to access that pervious "yak.exe" file from sharedolder I got same error " network path not found "....

Iam in confused little bit ..... Is .exe file is not accessed from Linux or it needed Dll file also..... if anybody know about this topic then plz mail me ...

you sure that the directory yak.exe was previously in was shared?

One more question keij ..... Is there Ftp service required on NT side

are you using samba or something else? it is odd. hehehe.. .

if it's just a LAN. you shouldn't need FTP for file accessing. it's just like a LAN with an all-Windows OS, but in this case it's between a Linux and a Win NT OS. samba, for example, is a bridge between these 2 OSs.. .
