network card not detected....plz help


Hi all,

I am new to linux. I have installed redhat ES 4 update 2 on my computer. it is not detecting my NIC. its marvell yukon 88e8050 giga bit ethernet controller. I have installed its drivers.(sk98lin).

Still it is not detecting my NIC.

Somebody plz help me.

may be the socket got problem ......

No.Actually, it is working fine in windows. but the problem is in linux. some how it is not detecting my device.

What happens if you do an "insmod sk98lin".

when i did insmod sk98lin

response: "insmod: cant read 'sk98lin': No such file or directory"

But, to configure my network, before installing my driver, i couldnt find the driver in the nic list. now i am able to select that option.

more over, c this. i got some extra information.

lsmod |grep -i 'sk98lin'
response: sk98lin 146089 0

when i tyed: ifconfig
i got big message.(approx 7 page in acrobat). i am selectively adding it. if u want i can paste the whole message.
