My second network card not detected

I have a pair of Realtek RTL 8139/810K NICs in my computer.

on ifconfig, though, i see only eth0
plus the stuff for loopback and PPPoE

no problems getting on line with ADSL...

my NICs are recognised by windows 98SE - one on IRQ 05 and one on IRQ10.

where should i start? - cant find anything on this forum ab this (may be my searching capabilities of course)

thanks in advance

Well, since they are both the same cards and one of them works I assume you have the correct modules installed. I'm not sure on this but you could try to bring it up manually with something like

"ifconfig eth1 <ip-address> netmask <netmask> up"

again, I'm not sure
