netbooting Linux

I am trying to boot linux off network using PXE. I have configured DHCP TFTP and NFS on my server ( the same machine ), and I could boot the Knoppix client using the same. But when I try to boot the Linux installed on the 4th partition of my hard drive my mounting it to /tmp and sharing it via NFS, i stuck after the following steps.

1) PXE request IP discovered
2) boot loader tranferred
3) kernel transferred
4) kernel starts,
5) mounts the nfs share

But just after mounting the process hangs saying, kernel panic no init found

What should be the default boot loader config file and nfs share. I am using PXElinux.
