Need help with Apache and Mandrake
Hello,
I'm kind of new to Linux but have been hacking at Unix for years. I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and the Apache Web Server 2.0.44. I'm also using the webmin tool to help with configuration.
I've got most everything working: I can get the index page in var/www/html up with a web browser on a remote machine; I can execute perl scripts in the /var/www/perl directory; BUT, I cannot get scripts working from the /var/www/cgi-bin directory. I believe all permissions are set correctly, that the directory ownership and group is apache and the directories are 755 as are the scripts. I can successfully execute the script from the command line, however when I try from a browser I get the "500 Internal Server Error" message. I've checked and re-checked the httpd2.conf and commonhttpd.conf files for the correct things like ExecCGI being present where it's supposed to be. Now I can't claim I've checked EVERYTHING as I'm by no means at all proficient with all of this.
So, anyone have any suggestions? I've checked all of the other threads herein using the search function, and have tried all of the suggestions I found.
Thanks, Dan
