My DLink 604 never get my Linux HOSTNAME in DHCP :: Solved
My small home network has several Windows machines, which show up in the DHCP list on the 604 with their hostnames - but my linux machines either don't show up at all (though they work just fine on the net) or they show that a machine got an IP but no hostname is shown in the list.
Running Slackware 11.0.
Oh well. As usual, as soon as I give up and post on a place like this, I figure out a solution - perhaps not the best, but it worked - I went int rc.inet1.conf and hard-set the DHCP_HOSTNAME to my chosen name. Now the DI-604 shows the name of the host in the list.
