monitor ethernet link status from application

Hi All,

I want to monitor ethernet link status from application programme. For that, I want to use call back function. I am using linux 2.6.25. Is there any way, any API or system call, to tract the link status?

Please provide me the solution for the problem.

Thanks in advance.

With regards,

Amit
