Mepis works with Linksys router, but not with Netgear.

Mepis works with Linksys router, but not with Netgear.
I have a fresh install of Mepis 7.0 on my HP laptop. At work it picks the network right up (Linksys router), but when I come home (Netgear router) it can't connect. Can anyone advise me?
