Mandriva Networking

I have Mandriva 10.1 Official on two PC's, how do I share and tranfer files between them??
I can do it mandriva -> windows, and windows -> mandriva but not between linux....

can anyone give me a help on this one???

PS - I am rookie LOL

So sorry... I am indeed very rookie on linux.
I tried to follow the steps above... and couldn't do a thing.
My exports file is empty, i used VI...

Can anyone explain me step by step?

I guess you are running samba on the linux box ?

Now i am no expert at this as i dont use samba much, but there is a smbmount command, which i guess would work like this:

smbmount //ipaddress/share /mnt/share

replace "//ipaddress/share" with ip address of pc with the share on it you want to access.. eg: 192.168.1.1, and "share" with shared directory/folder name.

And where "//mnt/share" is your local linux directory you want to mount the share on.
