Try this;

Upgrading your kernel to a 2.4.x (x = whatever) {IFFF You need to update the kernel} lol i mentioned this in another thread but i'll explain it again, 2.4.x should be accepting your USB modem, i'm almost positive it will work.

It should work, so long as you've installed the correct module for the modem. I don't know what the modem is, but you can look around on www.google.com/linux for compatibility or at the mandrake hardware compatibility list. Hope this helps

Eh? Your motherboard doesn't support a NIC? How old is your motherboard?

If your video won't work when your ethernet card is installed, it is probably a conflict. Have you tried moving either your NIC or your vid card to different slot and trying again? I'm almost certain this is the problem, but stranger things have happened.

Try leaving your video card in the same slot as you know that it works in that slot. Whatever slot the NIC is in, move it up one or down one and see what happens when you boot up. I bet this will work. Hope this helps.

So you are at the command line interface? It gives you a login prompt for user name and password? Just type the information in (you won't see anything when you type in your password), and when you get to a bash prompt just type startx and it should get you to the GUI desktop. Let us know how it goes and if you get any error messages. Hopefully we'll get you where you want to be. Hope this helps.
