Linux tcp Large receive offload

Hello,

Does anybody know if there is any rfc out there about the linux tcp receive offload or tcp segmentation offload? I made a lot of researches on the web and cannot find any rfc about it.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,

Indeed searching doesn't reveal much (only thing comes close to talking about TOE AFAIK is RFC4297 *) and the text at TLF > Groups > Networking > toe seems to regard TOE RFC compliance as onerous:

RFC compliance

Linux is the most RFC-compliant network stack available. TOE can at best equal this, and is more likely to diminish it. Further, as a black box, each TOE NIC may have a different level of RFC compliance, and different supported TCP/IP features.

Thanks. I looked at the RFC you provided. It is not what I was looking for. but, I appreciate the help though. I am more looking for a RFC that is covering the linux tcp large receive offload.

Yeah, I don't know what else me saying "comes close to talking about" should convey.

From the preciously quoted text and and searching ietf.org you could conclude there is no RFC for LRO / LSO.
