Linux client logging in a window$ 2k domain

Hi everybody:

I am trying to connect a GNU/Linux client to a W2k network. I'd like to do one of two things:

1) Let user logging into W2k domain as Windows user and gain access to all their resources shared in windows 2k machines.

2) Let users logging locally, but via samba gain access to their resources shared in W2k machines, asking them for their window$ user/password at the moment they have to access their folders.

The best is the first option, because it will be transparet for them and esasier for me to make users migration to Linux platform.

I think this could be possible by ussing samba/winbind/pam, but I don't know how to configure them to make this possible.

All help will be wellcomed.
Thanx in advance.

Thanks aaronruss. I have read this page before and I followed it step by step, and I could join the wotkstation to the windows domain and I could see all users and groups. Even I think Linux (Debian distribution) is checking right fine the user/password. But when I insert them:

user: DOMAIN+myuser
password: ********

I get the message:

Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info.

But if I fail the user name or password I get the message:

Login failed.

So I think it is doing something right... and something wrong

Do someone know what could be happening???
