Question Link Speed Issue

I have a supermicro board with 2 NICS

Code:
lspci -nn | grep -i eth
0a:03.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82546GB Gigabit Ethernet Controller [8086:1079] (rev 03)
0a:03.1 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82546GB Gigabit Ethernet Controller [8086:1079] (rev 03)
Both NIC's support and advertise 1000

One NIC will show a speed of 1000mbps

Code:
 ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
        Supported ports: [ TP ]
        Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                1000baseT/Full
        Supported pause frame use: No
        Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
        Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                1000baseT/Full
        Advertised pause frame use: No
        Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
        Speed: 1000Mb/s
        Duplex: Full
        Port: Twisted Pair
        PHYAD: 0
        Transceiver: internal
        Auto-negotiation: on
        MDI-X: Unknown
        Supports Wake-on: umbg
        Wake-on: g
        Current message level: 0x00000007 (7)
                               drv probe link
        Link detected: yes
The other one only 100

Using ethtool to force eth1 to 1000 results in this

Code:
ethtool eth1
Settings for eth1:
        Supported ports: [ TP ]
        Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                1000baseT/Full
        Supported pause frame use: No
        Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
        Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                1000baseT/Full
        Advertised pause frame use: No
        Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
        Speed: Unknown!
        Duplex: Unknown! (255)
        Port: Twisted Pair
        PHYAD: 0
        Transceiver: internal
        Auto-negotiation: on
        MDI-X: Unknown
        Supports Wake-on: umbg
        Wake-on: g
        Current message level: 0x00000007 (7)
                               drv probe link
        Link detected: no
after setting eth1 back to 100 with ethtool the advertised 10 and 1000 also dissapear.

Code:
 ethtool eth1
Settings for eth1:
        Supported ports: [ TP ]
        Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                1000baseT/Full
        Supported pause frame use: No
        Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
        Advertised link modes: 100baseT/Full
        Advertised pause frame use: No
        Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
        Speed: 100Mb/s
        Duplex: Full
        Port: Twisted Pair
        PHYAD: 0
        Transceiver: internal
        Auto-negotiation: on
        MDI-X: Unknown
        Supports Wake-on: umbg
        Wake-on: g
        Current message level: 0x00000007 (7)
                               drv probe link
        Link detected: yes
Tried different cables, cable lengths are short 1-2 meters.
All the infrastructure is gbps switch nics etc
Checked lsmod and it is using the correct e1000 driver

If i transfer a file on eth0 (1gbps) from another computer i only get a speed of 11-12 Mb/s which is around 100 mbps.

Im lost at what could be the problem, any ideas or suggestions?

Angry

NVM Appeared to be a cable issue in the end very weird the cables where brand new and good in the end some old regular cat5 cables gave the link and the full speed around 120 mb/s
