IPSEC-tools Windows and Linux

Hello,

We have a requirement for IPSEC tunnels to be created for communication of hosts on a single subnet. Most are Windows 2012 R2 servers where we can easily setup IPSEC tunnels between those. We have one Ubuntu 14.x server that also needs a tunnel creating, I’m aware this can be done with ipsec-tools and a PSK but we are wanting X.509 certificates to be used. Can this be configured with ipsec-tools?

EDIT --

Also trying https://www.strongswan.org/

Strongswan is very common IPSec module on Linux. It still is on going now. IPSec-tool stop developing at 2011.
