internet connection sharing

since windows 98, microsoft has included a utility that turns a computer into a nat router. While it is a quick and dirty system with limited capability and no flexibility, it works. Has anyone seen a script in any linux distribution that is as easy to use?

I would like to see a setup in linux that quick and easy, but with advanced option capability in order to take advantage of the strengths of Linux.

Comments?

Doing Internet Connection Sharing is as easy as checking a box in YaST on a SuSE machine. Other than that it is not a difficult script to write to enable masquerading.
