Unhappy Internet browser problems with latest MAndrake

How can I fix this? It is not the hardware as it works fine under Win2kpro.
The browsers are sooooo slow its unbelievable ...I have to leave the room and come back a few minutes later to see a full web page loaded. We have a broadband connection, and I share it with two other computers. My computer is brand new and identical to my brothers, and all three use a switch connected to the broadband modem. Anyway, its just the browsers take forever to load..pinging works fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like dns problem. Try to run a dns daemon locally.
