Mandrake Control Center problems after latest security update

Hi folks,

After installing a list of security updates I can't start my MCC anymore.
When I try it with the shell command "rpmdrake" I get "segmentation fault".
So I guess there's something wrong with the starting script.
Is there anyone else with this problem, and who knows a possible solution for this?

Kind regards,

Sjonnie

Have you tried updating your system again?

How can I update without drakconf or rpmdrak working properly?
That's the difficulty: MCC is completely unusable.

There is something called the command line . Start a terminal emulator e.g. konsole as a normal user and then switch to root using su, then do
Code:
#urpmi --auto-select --auto
Make sure you have the main, contrib, updates and plf repos setup according to the instructions at easyurpmi.

I tried that already. It seems that my perl is corrupted with the latest update:

#urpmi --auto-select --auto

Check a Mandriva update mirror for any perl updates and download them using something like wget and then install them.

I have updated perl, but it was like doing something with win'98.
#urpmi -Uvh perl-package-x

perl-package-x is already installed

#urpmi -e perl-package-x

perl-package-x is not installed

"Ok, then I'll do it the hard way":

#urpmi --force -Uvh perl-package-x

Thanx for your advice!
