try squirrelmail if you want secure webmail

all you need is ...

apache on https with php4_mod

imapd - allow localhost only for port 143 using /etc/hosts.deny and host.allow

it rules on a lan, and is also a great solution for remote mail relay


also you could build postfix with tls and sasl support for other remote relay using normal email clients


And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with sendmail, just seems like postfix is more flexable.

Well I finally got mine setup, figured I would let you all know since it's been a good 4 months since I posted on this

I did what I do best, find the easiest way and go with it I got postfix, installed it, read the README and INSTALL files, a bit of documentation (all included) and it runs like a champ. Now I can send and recieve files from my domain for any user on my system.
