Inet connection times out

my problem is with my work connection. Here are my settings.

at work:
ip: 10.1.2.40
subnetmask: 255.255.240.0
Gateway: 10.1.1.1
Host name: is0031
Domain: friedmans.com
DNS Service Search Order: 10.1.1.10
10.1.1.25

SO

My problem is that i have put these settings into that mandrake connection wizard thing and i can't seem to get connected. Eth0 is activated but webpages just time out after about 60 seconds or so.

I have these exact same settings in xp and it works fine. XP doesnt ask for a "Hostname" though.
Do i even need to put a hostname in for mandrake?
better yet whats the zerocf junk??
I can only put in one DNS ip for mandrake instead of 2 like in XP. Is this a problem? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let me also state that the gateway device is eth0
eth0 is the port on the back of my laptop (presario 2100) and eth2 is the integrated wireless in my laptop.
I hooked my laptop up at home and setup eth0 for dhcp and it connected to the internet fine once i activated it. I created a new profile for "work" where eth0 is setup as "static" with all the settings i stated previously and it will not work. Help!

Ok so noone said anthying about having to type SU in the "konsole" to use those commands. Anyhow got it working thanks to another user on here. Here are my settings

Fixed

Ok nevermind folks, i got everything working. Turns out eth1 was correct one that i needed to setup as static. I could have sworn that i setup eth0 as the ethernet connect for the jack in the back which would have meant that eth1 is the integrated wireless. Anyhow, if i get home and i have to setup eth0 for dhcp then im going to be really confused.
