Connection to Inet problems

Hi all,

I'm running a Mandrake 9.1 box, with (sympatico) aDSL internet and two ethernet cards, one connecting to the internet box, and the other to another computer on the network.

My Problem:

When I load-up the computer the ethernet cards take aobut a minute to start-up, and when they do (it shows on the network options that they are up) and I try to connect to the net (thru a program which I know worked before) it doesn't seem to work., The net works on windows, so I'm guessing it's a problem with the network cards or the protocols I'm using.

Any suggestions?

Thx,

Paul

maybe the card is configured to use dhcp when instead you have a static ip configuration??

usually when the card takes time to come-up it's cuz it's looking for a dhcp server...

just my two cents...

Okay. On my menu it says dhcp (for both cards), is that right, wrong, and how do I make my internet work from there?

Hmmm,

Sorry about wasting your time, I fixed it. It was just an issue with the dhcp thing.
