I've had this problem for the last week or so getting onto the internet with an external dial up modem. Basically, the modem dials and connects, as "handshake" insues, and then the connection sits there and times out. I then get the error:
Code:
LCP: Time out sending Config-Requests. Modem Hang Up. Connnection Terminated
If you are getting this same error, or something similar, try this: Open up your pppscript file in /etc/ppp directory.
Change:
TO:
In addition, delete:
and make sure these values are added in the file:
So, this is what you should have in the file:
Code:
"" "ATZ"
OK "ATDT<phone number>"
CONNECT '\d\c'
I've spend all week on this, and wanted to pass this on. Google is truley my friend.
