9.3 PRO device Mounting issues --PLEASE READ


Hi Mods perhaps you should make a permanent link to this

The way devices are mounted can cause probs with some apps for example if your app NEEDS say a fixed mounting point /dev/dvd instead of /media/VOLUME_NAME where the volume name changes depending on what's mounted then you need to apply the following change referred to in the link.

this didn't do the trick
it still makes a new directory called "idedisk"
any ideas ?

ok ,I've been messing with this and here is part of the problem
their directions are missing some important stuff
like you must delete the dvdrecord dir from media
if not it makes new ones with _ at the end
the only other problem I have is I have a second cdrecorder (not dvd)
when this is mounted it comes up as dvdrecorder_1
at least now I can make dead symlinks to the right locations
hope this helps anyone else
