How to get linux logons from Win2000 domain

Hi,

I am new to linux and i have a problem with samba.

We have Windows 2000 network at my work place and i am an administrator.

We are trying out linux as an altanative os in some of our systems and things are going well.

Can somebody tell me if i can get the linux boxes authenticated off the existing Windows domain the same way Windows 2000 workstations do?

Is this even Possible?

Someone please help as i have to live in a windows ruled network till i get the hang of samba !!! :-(

IIRC you can have only one nt domain controller on the network, either samba or nt

once you get samba set up, it should be great for print serving, file serving and other good stuff.

Yes it is possible, you must enable smb authentification.

I remember having seen that in redhat's graphical install. Should be possible to add on after install, though...
