How see a shared windows disk?

So how do you mount the file system on a networked PC to see its files and transfer? Also can't see the linux system on the network neighborhood in windows. I think its smb41? that shows a connection to the win box. Whats the next step?

run smb4k. (google, search LQ)
rightclick on the drive you want to mount and choose mount.
in your home directory there should be a folder called smb4k, open it and you will find a folder named the same as the computer you want to access, in that folder should be a folder of the drive you want.

I have problems using smb4k. I can connect to a Windows 2003 server but I can't connect to a Windows XP machine. smb4k doesn't accept any user name/passwords that I type in.

Any suggestions?

thanks

I think you should perhaps google this question.. there have been XP smb4k problems before, and on LQ to. It was probably not good to "hijack" this thread (it wasn't as bad as some, but it is still hijacking) in future, remember that if you can't find the answer its ok to start a new thread.
