Hello,
I have just started using linux (Red Hat Kernel version: 2.4.something).
I have two computers in my house (A and B) connected between them through LAN.
Computer A has a modem attached to it, which is how computer A connects to the internet.
I would like to know if there is a way in linux to allow computer B to control the modem in computer A directly (i.e. send modem commands, such as all the AT* strings) and that the modem in computer A would respond to: As if the user of computer B would think it has a local modem installed on its computer. (I believe this is similar to using PPP over ethernet).
Moreover, I would like - in that fashion - to allow computer B to connect to the internet via the modem in computer A.
Many thanks for anyone who can assist me on this.
