help on samba

hello out there any one there who might know what i can do i have just finally installed a linux and found out that there is something like a package manager thus was able to finally install samba, my problem is this ia have 3 windows machine and the linux why is it with the other winodws machine i could see the linux box when i click on it it asks for a password so i guess thats fine since that means it is connecting and just waiting for me to share a directory on the linux which i have not reached yet. My big problem is this why is it that one of the machines would not see the linux machine, in the network neighborhood icon when clicked on. I have duplicated the network neighborhood properties so they have the same protocols and services. any suggestion out there thanks.

smbpassword is the way to go there ... so you have to check the smbusers file and associate the windows machines to unix user!
