What distro of linux are you using? smb.conf is in the /etc directory with the rest of you config files. The reason I want to know what distro is because w/ redhat 9 I didn't have to touch it. (i had to for rh8 and prior releases) There is a gui (not SWAT) in the start menu that allows you to specify the workgroup and shares. Once you get your set up straight reset the samba server.....which brings me to my next question: will your samba server start? I ask that because w/ rh8 my samba services wouldn't start and spit out some error message. Once you get samba running windows will see samba shares as it would any other computer on its workgroup. To see windows shares from you Linux box type: "smb://netbios-name" (the netbios name of the windows system you would like to access)
