Question

Can anyone help me with setting my Red Hat 7.1 box up. So I can connect to other computers on my network. Like Network Neighborhood(Windows) you can browse through other peoples files. There are Windows & linux machines on the network. I am on a linux, I mainly would like to connect to other linux machines, to view there shared files, but both would be extra nice. If anyone can help please post. Thanks!

Sharing with a Windows machine will require using 'smb' or the 'smbclient'. Sharing with Linux machines can be accomplished the same way or via NFS.


Go to http://www.linuxdoc.org and look at the SMB and NFS howto's.
