FTP Server via Debian log in issue - Please help!

Hi there,

I have a new install of Debian with FTP server installed and running fine internally. When I try and access the server remotely, I can log in but it times out and says that "I don't have permissions to access or edit this folder".

If I try internally, I can log in with the same password, user name, and edit, transfer, anything....no problem.

My router is a linksys and I have ports 20, 21, 22, 80 opened and forwarded to the linux box.

Any suggestions. My guess it is the Linksys router not working correctly.

- Mike

ftp issue

Dou you have DSL connection that uses a PPPoE or PPPoA protocol? Had a similiar problem, had to use router as switch (don't hook it into the WAN port) or get a router that can handle the PPPoE or PPPoA and set DSL modem in bridge mode.
