Fedora on Lenovo X230 - suddenly "no wifi adapter", but on live USB it's OK

I think it happened after an update. I have now no wi-fi, ifconfig doesn't show any wireless interface. lscpi shows the network controller.
But when I go to Settings - under Wi-fi I see message "no wifi adapter".

However, I tried to boot from live USB and there everything works fine.

Any clue what could be the reason? Any advice on what to check in /etc ?

apparently, the necessary kernel module for your adaptor isn't being loaded. you can find out your adaptor and which kernel module is necessary for it by searching online. or you can use brute force, and try to load each one yourself, and find out when your wifi starts working. find your kernel modules in /lib/modules/ and search in there. the command to load a modules is
